Jennifer Alfano grew up in Harrisburg, PA where she began riding at an early age. Throughout her junior career, her outstanding talent shined through with her abilities as a catch rider. After her junior career, Jen went on to groom for Greg Best and his talented mount, Gem Twist. While grooming for Greg and Gem Twist, Jen was able to travel to the Pan American Games, two FEI World Cup Finals, and the Olympic Games. After finishing her time with Best, Jen turned her focus back onto her own riding career and has since gone on to become a noteworthy icon in the hunter ring. Some of her titles to date include: 2 Professional World Hunter Rider titles, 7 USEF National Horse of the Year titles, 2nd in lifetime money earned in Hunter Derbies, and 2012 Champion at International Derby Finals aboard Jersey Boy. Other successes include multiple championships at The Devon Horse Show, the Pennsylvania National, Washington International, and the Kentucky National.
Abby Strohmeyer's passion for horses started at a young age while growing up in Beaufort, South Carolina. Her junior years were spent with Missy Roades and Andrea Wells competing in the jumpers and equitation. After high school Abby attended Sweet Briar college where she trained with Mimi Wroten and Matt Payne. She was an active member of the IHSA and American National Riding Commission (ANRC) teams as well competed on the rated circuit. She was a member of the 2013 ANRC National Championship Team, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) championship team and All ODAC Team in 2015. She also had several working student positions, including ones with Jason Berry Stables and SBS Farms. Since graduating in 2016 Abby has worked under Jennifer Alfano as a rider, where she continues to expand her knowledge and skills.
Sophie No was adopted by Jennifer 7 years ago from Danny and Ron’s Rescue. Sophie enjoys hanging around with all of her people, long rides in the golf cart and playing with her frisbee. Sophie has taken on the role of guard dog here at Next Chapter so approach with caution.
